After earning his BA with Honours at Bishop's University in History and Dramatic Arts in 2000, Forbes worked for four years as Assistant Editor and staff writer for Muse the magazine of the Canadian Museums Association. There he connected with arts and culture advocacy in Canada as well the bulwark of government funding structures. During this time he also became involved with the independent film and music scene.

After 2 years in Korea teaching and editing English curriculum, Forbes began working on the Searching for Dragons Film Project in 2006. It was here that the medium's ability to simultaneously present a beautiful piece of art and communicate important and engaging ideas first gripped and captivated him.

In late 2006, Forbes moved to Toronto where he has since worked as a journeyman, working through the roles of production from set builder to camera assistant, production coordinator to continuity supervisor. This has meant work in both the commercial film industry as well as the vibrant indie film scene through organizations like the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto and the Canadian Film Centre.

Understanding that power lies in numbers and connectivity, Forbes has built a vast support network across the entire spectrum of the media arts and culture community. Within this network lie strong connections to artists, musicians, filmmakers, busniness strategists, and digital media producers.

Forbes is excited about the documentary genre's ability to address complex stories that need our attention. At this time where the speed of change seems increased, the inadequacy of most traditional forms of news media to explore the depth of issues is apparent. This both makes us oblivious to the existence of such depth and cripples our ability to make positive change. Forbes believes the documentary in an important part of the solution to this problem.

To Windpath Films, Forbes brings his skills as a social being, an ideas man, and an agitator. Most of all, Forbes brings sincere love, respect, and awe for the world around us.
