Jordan McTavish has been editing drama, documentary, corporate, and non-profit video professionally for nearly a decade. In 2003 Jordan was awarded a Federal internship that had him travel abroad to Belfast, and Northern Ireland to work in documentary production. Since then, Jordan has produced, directed and edited short format content that has been widely distributed via the web, international festivals, galleries, and broadcast television.
Jordan's 2010 editing slate included 28 projects, one of which was, Brenda Kovrig's Do I Come On Too Strong?(2010). The project received the Best Comedy Award at the Yorkton Short Film Festival.
Although focused primarily on editing, Jordan is versatile, having also worked professionally in a variety of other capacities. These include television development, production management and coordination, sound, camera, and administration with the Canadian Media Producers Association.
Jordan holds a B.A. in Film Studies, has trained and taught with the Independent Filmmaker's Cooperative of Ottawa (IFCO), and graduated 'With Honours' from Dramatic Scriptwriting at Algonquin College. He is a volunteer for several non-governmental and not-for-profit organizations and maintains a deep closeness to his community, of Parkdale, Toronto.
